Annika’s Event

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

Hello from Charleston, SC!

Well it is scorching hot here this week. Wow I haven’t been in heat like this in a while. I have been working really hard on my game and especially on my putting. Need to make a lot of putts to win so that is what I am trying to do! The town here is so excited to have the tournament here. All the people at the event are so excited and there were so many spectators out at the course Mon, Tues and Wed! It is such a great atmosphere.
Today was the pro am and I played with a group of great guys! We had a lot of fun! On the first hole of the day I holed out from 130 yards for an eagle 2! It was a great start to the day! We ended up finishing at 12 under. On the last hole of the day we had to wait 5 minutes because there was a 7 foot alligator crossing the middle of the fairway! I thought it was going to pick my ball up. I stayed so far away because I am not a big fan of gators! They are scary but fascinating animals!
Tomorrow I have the afternoon tee time at 12:54. I have a nice group so it should be an enjoyable afternoon. I will try and find the shade as much as possible out there even though there is barely any out there!
Hope everyone is having a great week! I will check in again soon..

Off We Go!

Sunday, May 27th, 2007

Hello everyone!
I hope everyone is having a fabulous week! I have been doing well this week. I went to Long Island on Wednesday and Thursday of this week and worked with my golf coach. I hit tons of balls so my hands were hurting pretty bad by Thursday afternoon. Friday I played golf and then relaxed the rest of the afternoon. Yesterday I spent the entire day cleaning my room. I sent 7 big trash bags to goodwill and 3 bags to the dumpster! I can finally see what color my carpet is now!!!
Its been a crazy last couple of months so to be able to come home and just chill out has been great! I went to Poppy’s everyday when I was home and ate my favorite a chocolate chip pancake with whipped cream of course!!!! Ate at all my favorite places and chilled out with my dogs! It has just been a relaxing week!
I am off tomorrow to Charleston, SC for the Ginn Tribute hosted by Annika. I am really looking forward to getting down there! It should be a great event. Annika is making her return after being out the last month with an injury and the LPGA is going to see the first look of Michelle Wie in 2007. The crowds should be large and it should be a great week.
I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day. I am going to a bbq at my “fake” relatives house tonight! :) You all know I didn’t mean it like that!
Until next time….

Tough Week

Sunday, May 20th, 2007

Hi

First I would like to thank everyone who came to New Jersey to watch me play this week. I really appreciate all of the support you all have given me!
It was a tough week for me. Opened up with a 69 and then had a couple rough rounds after that. It was a tough week for me but it was another learning experience. I didn’t have my A game this week but tried to work with what I had.
I am not playing in the next event which is in Corning, NY. Instead I am going to take the week to work on my game in Long Island with my golf instructor, Tom Patri. Hopefully we can figure out a couple of things and fix some stuff that might have gone wrong this week.
Hope everyone has a great week. I know I will enjoy my week off!!!

Home Sweet Home

Thursday, May 17th, 2007

Hi!

Sorry I haven’t written in a while. It has been such a crazy week. After my missed cut last week at the Michelob Ultra at Kingsmill I made the 7 hour drive home in time to celebrate my 25th birthday! I was home Saturday and Sunday but was a little under the weather.

Monday night was my big debut throwing out the first pitch at the New York Mets game. I think I am going to stick to golf! I made it over the plate but threw more of a lob then a fast ball like I had anticipated! I had a blast at the game and I want to thank everyone who made the trip down to Shea Stadium to watch me throw out the pitch. It was one of the coolest experiences I have ever had!

This week has been crazy. I got to New Jersey on Tuesday and played a practice round. I was up super early on Wednesday morning for the pro am and then ran inside to do some media stuff for the tournament. Today I played at 9:05 with Laura Davies and Jee Young Lee who was runner up in last weeks tournament at Kingsmill. I shot 3 under but lost a couple of shots coming in. I had a good solid start and had a great following today! I want to thank everyone who made the trip to Clifton to watch! I’m looking forward to seeing everyone the rest of the week!

Hope all is well. Remember to follow live scoring on www.lpga.com

Michelob Ultra Open

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

Hi

It is Thursday morning and I am sitting here on the porch of my private housing just watching the players come through. It is really convenient because I am staying right on the second green. It is a really nice setup and great that it is close to the course.

Well I have heard the Francella “Fanatics” (as Uncle Chucky is calling it) have arrived. I guess they listened to the navigation system in Joe Bells’ car and they were already in traffic because it took them the wrong way. I guess there is really no hope for Uncle Chucky, Uncle Caggie and Joe Bells. I had the pro am yesterday and Gerry Clarke and Billy Summa came out and watched. They said the course was a little hilly to walk so everyone will be in good shape after this week is over.

I play at noon today. I am sure it will be a good day on the course. A little overcast but a good temperature. I am hoping it warms up at home when I get there!

Until next time…

Back In Action!

Monday, May 7th, 2007

Hey!!

Well I know everyone has been going thru withdrawl since there was no live scoring to follow and no golf channel to watch this week since I wasn’t playing in Tulsa! Well I am back in action this week at the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia. After an interesting week off I am extremely excited and ready to get back in tournament mode! If you all are wondering the dog bite is slowly getting better. The purple bruising is still there but is now a shade of yellow so that means its getting better. The pain from the tetnis shot is gone so I can finally lift my arm! It only took 4 days and 2 trips to the doctor! But I am sure I will be better by the tournament start on Thursday morning.

Kingsmill is a very nice resort and Williamsburg is a cool town. This week is marking the 400th anniversary. The queen was here last week and I heard President Bush will be here this weekend. Should be pretty crazy here. A couple of the Francella Fanatics (as I guess we are calling it according to Uncle Chucky) are going to be here this week. I guess a little taste of what Sybase is going to be like! I am looking forward to getting home and playing in the area! I haven’t been home since Christmas so I am really looking forward to getting home and going right to Poppy’s Cafe on Monday morning!

Tom, my coach is in town for the day tomorrow so we will get working on some things and he is going to walk around the course with me during my practice round tomorrow so that will be good! I am staying in private housing this week with a very nice family and they are right on the 2nd hole of the golf course. It worked out very nicely this week.

I am looking forward to seeing you all next week! I will be working on my curve ball since I will be throwing the first pitch out at the Mets game on Monday night! I have been told if I bounce it in there that I will definitely get a bad reaction from the fans at Shea Stadium. What people don’t know is that this kid from Port Chester was the first girl in Midget League when I played for the Cardinals! I was a pitcher too so those Met fans are in for a treat on Monday night!

Have a good week and I will check in later on.

Interesting Week off!

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007

Well hello everyone!

As you all know I am not playing in the Tulsa event this week because I felt like my body needed a week off to recover from the last couple of weeks! On Monday I was in Washington D.C. doing a clinic for one of my sponsors so after the red eye flight from Morelia it was a long day on Monday afternoon. I got through it and got a good nights sleep that night. I flew back to North Carolina where my car was on Tuesday morning. I also came here to have a relaxing week off. I went to pick my car up where I left it and got bit by an 100 pound dog, a Weimereiner to be exact. Thank god he didn’t bite me on the hand. He bit me on the back of my leg and broke skin through my jeans. My leg looks awful and is all black and blue and has a cut. Not something that was planned in my week off itinerary! I went to the doctor yesterday and since I haven’t had a tetnis shot in 12 years I had to get one of those. He put me on some medication in case of infection. My arm hurts so bad from the shot that I can barely lift it and my leg is throbbing from the bite. I took pictures to show my mom since she is so worried. I told her I am fine but just in a little bit of pain! Just an update for you guys!

I am leaving Chapel Hill on Monday morning to drive to Kingsmill for the next tournament. It is about a 3 and a half hour drive so it isn’t too bad. I can’t wait to come home next week. I am driving home right after the event is over on Sunday afternoon the 13th. I am so excited to get home and sleep in my own bed!

Hope all is well with everyone! Will check in next week!
