Aloha !!

Hope everyone had a great week!

Not going to lie I will be very happy to leave Hawaii. It has been a great 2 weeks but I am definitely ready to get back and work on some things next week during my week off.

It was a roller coaster week. The first round I shot 68 recording 6 birdies and an eagle but had a triple on my 11th hole. Other than that it was a good start to the week. The second round we had a three hour rain delay. They get only 3 inches of rain here at Ko Olina and we got that in about 15 minutes yesterday. The practice putting green had puddles all over it! Since we had such a long delay I was only able to complete 7 holes. We had to be up pretty early today in order to finish our second round, I think my alarm went off at 5:15 am and I was on the driving range where they had a bunch of lights set up so we could warm up before they teed us off at 7:30. I finished the second round at 73 and then turned around and teed off in the third round 30 minutes later. It was barely enough time to eat lunch. The third round was a lot of fun. I got paired with Pat Hurst who has played on many Solheim Cup teams and finished runner up in the US Open last year. Quite a learning experience for me. Needless to say I was a little nervous on the first hole today but loosened up quick. Finished the final round with a 69 which put me at 6 under par for the tournament in a tie for 14th place.

It was definitley a pick me up from last week after missing the cut. I learned a lot this week which is always the important thing. I know now that I can compete on the highest level in the world.

We have a week off next week before we go to Mexico City. I will be spending the week in Phoenix, Arizona just practicing and playing the entire week. It should be a relaxing week. I will need it since my Dad is coming to Mexico with me :) Sorry Dad you know I can’t wait to see you!! It will be a fun week with him since my parents don’t really get to come out to watch too much.

I want to thank everyone for all of your comments and emails. I can’t tell you how much it means to me to have all of this support.

Week 2

Hello again!

This week I am at Ko Olina in a city I can’t pronounce or even attempt to spell! Its really nice here but has been extremely windy! The wind has been blowing so bad I am hitting a 3 wood where I normally would be hitting 6 iron. The conditions are tough but I like playing in the wind. I think it is a true test of golf.

I got here on Sunday and worked on my putting a lot since the greens are a little different than last week. I practiced all day Monday and then played 18 on Tuesday morning. The course is in great shape and definitely fits my eye. It should be a great week for me!!

I am really feeling relaxed and confident about my game this week. I play tomorrow morning at 8:05 hawaii time so hopefully I will make the golf channel highlights! I will try and hole out so you all can see me on tv!!!
I am confident that I will have a great week and I plan to enjoy it a lot more than last week!

Hope everyone is having a great week! I will keep you posted later in the week.

SBS Open

Aloha!

Well not the best start to the LPGA season but definitely learned a lot this week. It was an eye opening experience and I am confident I will be better prepared for next week at the Fields Open at the Ko Olina Golf Club. It is a long season and I know that I will be successful in the next event.

The wind blew like crazy on Friday afternoon in the second round. I shot 74 but played much better than the score I shot. It turns out if I would have shot even par I would have been playing in the final round today. I was extremely discouraged but I know what I need to work on for the tournament next week. There is only one thing I need to work on and that is being confident. I went out and watched Hall of Famer Juli Inkster for 9 holes today to see if I could learn a few things. I learned that she is confident no matter how she is playing. Whether it be leading the tournament or making the cut on the number she is confident and committed to each and every shot or putt she hits. That is the difference between a veteran and a first year tour member. Therefore, that is my goal for next tournament. If i can be a little more confident I think you will be seeing a lot of my name at the top of the leaderboard.

I am headed to Ko Olina for the next event which is about an hour away from Turtle Bay tomorrow morning. I plan on playing 9 holes tomorrow afternoon and then playing 18 holes on Monday afternoon.

Thank you for all the responses and emails I have gotten this week. It is really comforting to know I have the support of so many people at home! Although this lifestyle make look glamorous, I am learning that I am going to be spending a lot of time by myself. Thanks so much for all of your support! I will let you know how things are going at the Fields Open in the beginning of the week.

Mahalo (thank you in Hawaii)

ALOHA!

Aloha

Well after a long two days of travel I finally made it to the beautiful Turtle Bay Resort in Hawaii. It has been 80 degrees here everyday. Every morning I wake up to the waves crashing on shore and people surfing. Don’t really see that too much in Port Chester, NY.

Everything is going well. I played 9 holes Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and just practiced Wednesday since I wasnt in the pro am.  I have just been working hard on my short game and putting and trying to have a game plan for the golf course. This is all like a dream come true. I mean its not everyday you are rolling putts next to hall of famers like Julie Inkster or hitting balls next to great players like Natalie Gulbis and Pat Hurst. I am just trying to take it all in and enjoy the experience as much as I can.

I play at 7:20 am tomorrow with Tracy Hanson and Janice Moodie. I’m sure it will be a relaxing and enjoyable morning. Hopefully we will be out there before the wind starts to blow! It can get pretty windy out here in the afternoon. I have my friend Adam McDaid caddying for me. He and I used to work at Westchester Country Club together 8 years ago and have been friends ever since. He caddied for me in the first Duramed Futures Tour tournament when I won last year. Needless to say I am hoping for a win right out of the gates like last year. Hopefully I can mirror my start to last season.

That’s all for now. I will check in later in the week.
